The ten fNIRS runs are depicted in the order they were conducted in the experiment. The first two runs, MD1 and SN2, were localizer runs (block 1) for mental drawing (MD) and spatial navigation (SN). The following six runs, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6, represent the answer decoding runs, with a Q as an abbreviation for “question run”. The last two runs, MD2 and SN2, were localizer runs (block 2).
