Fig. 1 — Signal transduction pathway activations by viral fusion peptides. PKC, Src, Akt (a) and MAPKs activation (b) in U937 cells in response to peptides (10 μM) after 10 min of stimulation. Cellular lysates were harvested, immunoprecipitated by phosphospecific antibodies, analyzed on SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with appropriate phosphospecific antibodies. Gels were scanned for densitometry analysis by Sigma Gel software, and the ratio of the value for each peptide stimulation to the value for a non-stimulated control is shown. The data are presented as an average from three separate experiments, and the error bars indicate the standard error of the means. Band intensity was quantified densitometrically.
