IFN-β (a) and IL-10 (b) release by viral fusion peptides. U937 cells (3 × 10⁶ cells/ml) were stimulated with peptides (10 μH) and incubated for 24 h at 37 ° in 5% CO₂. All samples were assayed for the presence of IFN-β by ELISA, using human interferon-β (Hu-IFN-β) ELISA kit from PBL Biomedical Laboratories (a), and IL-10 by ELISA, using human IL-10 ELISA kit from Bender MedSystem (b). The results shown are averages from three independent experiments, and the error bars indicate the SEMs.
