Scanning electron microscopy of Trypanosoma cruzi epimastigotes treated with IC50 of ITZ, compound 1, and compound 2 for 72 h. Epimastigote cultures grown in the absence (A) or presence of ITZ (B), compound 2 (C, D) or compound 1 (E). After 72 h of treatment, epimastigotes were collected, washed, and processed for SEM. Control parasites presented a feature morphology with an elongate body and a flagellum emerging from the anterior region (A). Parasites have body contorted and rounded cell (B, D, E) and multiple flagella (B, C, arrow).
