Characterization of aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity and CD13 expression of HSC-58 cells. ALDH expression was assayed in the human gastric cancer cell lines HSC-58 (left panels) and HSC-44PE (middle panels), and in the stomach signet-ring cell carcinoma cell line KATO-III (right panels) by staining with the ALDH substrate ALDEFLUOR^® (BAAA; BODIPY^® aminoacetaldehyde) in the presence or absence of the ALDH inhibitor diethylaminobenzaldehyde (DEAB), followed by FACs analysis.
