The Rcs phosphorelay and BaeSR (in E. coli) or WigKR (in V. cholerae) two-component systems induce their respective regulons. The induced genes play various roles in protection, including inducing EPS to deflect further T6SS attacks, and mitigating effector-mediated damage.
