UCA1 sustains proliferation of AML cells by repressing the expression of the cell cycle regulator p27kip1. c. The UCA1 transcript functions as a sponge for miR-125a and miR-126, thus modulating RAC1 and HK2 expression, and promotes AML cell proliferation and resistance to chemotherapy.
