Figure 3. Synergistic killing effect of AEW541 in combination with chemotherapeutic agents.

MCF7 cells were seeded in 96-well plates at a density of 3 × 10³ cells per well. After 24 h, cells were treated with a panel of six chemotherapeutic agents, alone or in combination with AEW541. After 72 h, cell viability was measured using XTT assays. Bara represents the mean ± SEM of three independent experiments. Statistical analysis was performed by using unpaired Student’s t-test (^** p < 0.01 or ^* p < 0.05 drug versus drug + AEW541 or untreated cells versus AEW541). The CI values (combination index) were determined by the Compusyne software for all of the combined treatments.
