a

Wilson 95% CIs are reported.

b

Data were excluded from calculations if the number of births was not reported by race (1 center) or if the number of births recorded as other, unknown, or not reported was more than 20% of the total live births reported (4 centers, 1 hospital at each of 2 additional centers) unless more than 20% of infants at the center were thought to have maternal race other than white or black as determined by center infants born 2015 to 2017 enrolled in the Neonatal Research Network high-risk registry (1 center that was 27% Asian and 1 center that was 29% American Indian/Alaska Native were not excluded).

c

Data were excluded from calculations if the number of births was not reported by ethnicity (2 centers, 1 hospital at each of 2 additional centers) or if the number of births recorded as unknown or not reported was more than 20% of the total live births reported (1 hospital at each of 2 centers).
