MSCs mediate decreased cytotoxicity to cisplatin in OSCC. Using a clonogenic assay approach, cisplatin dose response curves were generated for clones derived from JHU-012 and −019 cells grown alone and in 1:1 co-culture with MSCs. There was a significant increase in the cisplatin dose response curve and IC50 in clones derived from co-culture with MSCs for JHU-012 (A) and −019 (B; n > 3; p < 0.001).
