Microbiota-centered therapies against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Gut microbiota dysbiosis and impaired intestinal barrier have been elucidated as pathogenic factors in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Antibiotics, probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, fecal microbiota transplantation, and gut microbiota-derived components and metabolites are important treatments targeting the gut microbiota.
