Islet cell clusters (ICCs)‐derived cells are efficiently transduced by lentiviral vectors. To overcome the problem of low transduction efficiencies of ICCs because of their compact 3D structure, those were dissociated and the isolated cells were cultured as monolayer. A, Isolated cells were transduced with lentiviral vectors encoding for swine leucocyte antigen (SLA)‐specific short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs; shNS, shβ2M, shCIITA) and GFP as a reporter gene. Three days after transduction, cells were collected and the percentages of GFP‐positive cells were analysed by flow cytometry and compared to the control NT cells.
