(b) Distributions of template match scores pooled from all animals for 1 h of Rest 1 and 2 sleep and 30 min of reaching task. Strong matching is evident during the task, but not during Rest 1 or 2. (c) Group data for template matching (no temporal compression). Overall distributions of match strength during sleep are weak compared to task. REM and SWS match strength was similar and neither REM nor SWS was significantly different between Rest 1 and 2. (d) Template matching strength for faster (8×) or slower (0.12×) replay compression.
