Reticulum cells of the interfollicular region but not FDCs of the follicular region contain lipid droplets, (A) Follicular dendritic cells (FDCs, FDC-M1+) are located in the B cell (B220+) area of mLNs. (B-F) mLNs were isolated, fixed and stained with uranyl acetate and lead citrate 10 weeks after LFD (B, D) or HFD (C, E). Representative pictures (1.8 kx) of the cortex are shown. Lymphocytes and FDCs were detected within the follicular regions (B, C), and interfollicular reticulum cells, dendritic cells or lipid droplets were identified within the interfollicular region (D, E).
