WTLI resulted in a rapid drop in (A) white blood cells (WBC) and (C) lymphocytes in both strains of mice that recovered by month 2 in C3H mice and became slightly elevated by month 1 in C57 mice. (B) Platelets were slightly reduced in C3H mice between days 5 and 12. (D) Neutrophil counts were elevated in both strains by month 1, but more persistently in C57Bl/6 mice. Statistically significant changes in counts compared to pre-radiation levels (Dunnett’s test p-value < 0.001) are indicated by an asterisk.
