Effect of MDA-ECM on the migratory capacity of MCF-7 cells. MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells were cultured in standard conditions for 72 h, and decellularized ECMs were obtained, as described in the Methods. MCF-7 cells were cultured for 72 h on decellularized ECM derived from MDA-MB-231 or MCF-7 cells with or without TGF-β1. After that, cells were trypsinized, seeded on Transwell chambers, and allowed to migrate toward FBS-enriched medium (10%) for 72 h. The number of migrated cells was counted, and the results are shown as the fold increase relative to the control MCF-ECM (* p < 0.05 and *** p < 0.001) and the positive control TGF-beta (### p < 0.001) and presented as the mean ± SD calculated from 3 individual experiments.
