The surfaces on the SBD contacted by the substrate peptide are colored according to the residue position in the substrate, and the numbers (−2 to +2) indicate the ‘positions’ relative to the ‘0th residue’, which corresponds to the SBD site that contacts the central residue of the peptide [39].
