Inverse correlation between annual telomere attrition rate and baseline telomere length of leukocytes. The leukocyte telomere length of all participants was plotted as Lg-transformed T/S ratio. Annual telomere attrition rate was calculated by the equation: (follow-up telomere length- baseline telomere length)/follow-up years. The correlation coefficient β was -0.52 and R2 was 0.27 (P<0.001).
