Western blot of SdrC in supernatants of USA300 biofilms. Biofilms were treated with SpeB or SpeB[C192S] or left untreated for 2 h, after which the supernatants were collected. Rabbit serum antibody against SdrC region A was used at a 1:1,000 ratio to detect SdrC fragments in the supernatant. The top band present in all three conditions runs at approximately 75 kDa, and the cleaved products in the SpeB condition run at approximately 55 to 60 kDa.
