Figure 1 displays the quartiles of measured UFP concentrations from 0 to 16 km downwind of LAX on August 24th, 2013 1300–1800. Inset is a legend listing the keys for the first, second, third, and fourth quartiles and the 65th dB noise contours. Also inset is a wind rose demonstrating the wind direction during the time of measurements, demonstrating a consistent WSW onshore breeze. — Measured ultrafine particles (UFP) concentrations downwind of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on 3 December 2013 with area above $65 decibels (dB)$ average noise in gray.
