Interaction of PDLLCL with surrounding cells. Minor fibrosis (A; arrow) and no immune cells were observed (10×) in and around the islet scaffold (*) 10 weeks after transplantation. Biomaterial-cell interactions were found between PDLLCL fibers (*) and cells (B/C). These cells were integrated in the scaffold (20×; arrows).
