· HDL cholesterol: ≤10th percentile

· Blood pressure: systolic ≥90th percentile or diastolic ≥90th percentile

· Glucose: insulin ≥90th percentile or fasting glucose ≥90th percentile, according to homeostasis model assessment

Each category counts as one risk criterion.
