The inflammatory response in the brain was increased in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mice exposed to intermittent hypoxia (IH). (A) Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukin-1 β (IL-1β) in mouse serum were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). (B) NLRP3 expression was determined by immunohistochemistry (IHC). Scale bars in the right lower corner represent 20 mm. (C) NLRP3, caspase 1, TNF-α and IL-1β levels were determined by Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).
