Dry mean diameter (D) and mean hydrodynamic diameter (Dz) for PMMA/QAC NPs. D was from scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Dz was determined by dynamic light-scattering (DLS). The nanoparticles (NPs) were obtained from 0.4 M methyl methacrylate (MMA), 2 mM dioctadecyl dimethyl ammonium bromide (DODAB) or cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), and 0.36 mg·mL−1 AIBN in 10 mL of 1 mM NaCl. The mean D was obtained using ImageJ software from 100 particles.
