Summary parameters of the distribution of the deviations between the proportions of area burned mapped by the Landsat 8 reference data and the proportion of area burned mapped by the MCD64A1 product, reported as a function of the Landsat proportion burned quantized in 5% intervals. As in Fig. 4, all global voxels are combined. Because the differences between the distributions obtained with the four grid cell sizes of Fig. 4 are nearly identical, only the smallest and largest grid cell sizes are reported (right column: 3 km × 3 km results; left column: 6 km × 6 km results).
