Confusion matrix used to assess burned area product accuracy, where the matrix elements describe either the area A_ij [m²] or the proportion (p_ii) [0–1] of agreement and disagreement of burned and unburned area between the classified data, and the reference data. If expressed as area, the four elements sum to A, the total spatial extent of the product; if expressed as proportions, the four elements sum to unity.
