Representative immunofluorescent images show RPE cells cultured on the electrospun membrane for 1 month stained positively for RPE cell marker proteins and RPE function proteins (green). Cells cultured on the membranes were difficult to image clearly due to the auto-fluorescent nature of the PET fibres. Upon comparison with the positive glass coverslip control, similar staining patterns are apparent, especially noticeable with BEST1, GULP and USO1. DAPI = blue nuclear stain (n = 3).
