Mapping the temperature - NaCl concentration phase space of capsid assembly at 20 μM cp149, based on the degree of agreement between our experiments and thermodynamic model. Each symbol in the phase diagram represents an assembly reaction, classified according to its level of agreement with the thermodynamic model (presented in Figures 3 and S14): excellent agreement (blue), very small deviations (orange), and small deviations (red). Note that physiological ionic strength and temperature are predicted to yield equilibrated reactions. Red and orange qualitative broken contours were added to visually separate the three phases. Figure S15 shows the χ² values of the fitted SAXS models in Figure 3, based on which the fitting quality was classified.
