Since January 2020 Elsevier has created a COVID-19 resource centre with free information in English and Mandarin on the novel coronavirus COVID-19. The COVID-19 resource centre is hosted on Elsevier Connect, the company's public news and information website. Development of the epidemic in the United States of America compared with China. Dates from different countries were synchronised with the date of the first reported COVID-19-related death as day 1. Height of the curves represents the cumulative number of reported COVID-19-related deaths in that country, expressed as a percentage of the number of deaths on day 25 in that country.
