All comparisons for categorical variables between/among the groups are performed by using the chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test as appropriate, whereas the comparison for continuous variables is performed by using the Kruskal–Wallis test (for more than two groups) and the Mann–Whitney U test (between two groups). P < 0.05 is considered significant.
