(A) Shows a representative trace in which the CT responses were monitored while the rat tongue was first superfused with a rinse solution (R) and then with a stimulating solution containing 100 mM NaCl + 5 μM Bz + FII_m (0–1%) maintained at room temperature. The arrows represent the time periods when the rat tongue was superfused with R and the stimulating solutions. The data were normalized to the tonic response obtained with 0.3 M NH₄Cl.
