(A) Tumor treatment using CaP nanoparticles (NPs) as platforms for simultaneous photothermal therapy and chemotherapy. Hybrids of CaP nanoparticles and gold nanorods were loaded with Doxorubicin (DOX) and injected into mice via tail veins. Nanoparticles accumulated in the tumors released Doxorubicin (chemotherapy agent) and generated heat in response to laser irradiation. Temperature variation in tumors were monitored using thermal imaging (B) and enhanced the therapeutic effect of the nanoparticles as shown by “NPs+DOX+laser” in the tumor volume graph (C).
