Figure 10. Monte Carlo simulation of 1 mm artificial error observing Root Mean Square (RMS) error in millimeters as a function of the number of references (points) over 1 million simulations. It is clear from the image that when six references are present, error propagation can be significant. Increasing the number of references to eight or more significantly decreases the propagation of an error.
