Screening of the dendrimers against MERS‐CoV infection. The plaque formation assay was performed with 12 dendrimers. Before MERS‐CoV infection, MERS‐CoV (600 pfu/well) was incubated with each dendrimer (10 µM) for 30 minutes at 37°C and then added to Vero cells to infect them with MERS‐CoV. After 4 days of incubation in DMEM/F12 containing 0.6% oxoid agar, the plaques were revealed by staining with crystal violet and counted. +DMSO indicates treatment with 1% DMSO.
