Figure 1.

Figure 1

Hydrodynamic properties of recombinant OAS2. (A) OAS2 volume distribution versus hydrodynamic radius (rH) as determined by DLS at different protein concentrations (0.25–2 g/L) is shown. (B) Concentration dependence of hydrodynamic radius obtained from DLS measurements is shown. The hydrodynamic radius (rH) was determined for OAS2; DLS measurements were taken at protein concentrations in the same range as in (A). Error bars represent standard deviation from three replicates. (C) Sedimentation velocity (SV) distribution analysis is shown in terms of c(S) at 0.16, 0.41, 0.57, and 1.33 g/L. Inset is the resultant concentration dependence of the SV distribution. The values were corrected to standard conditions (pure water at 20°C), and error bars represent the width of the peak distribution. (D) CD spectrum showing the deconvolution of structural features in OAS2 is given. The signal was subtracted from the buffer blank and deconvoluted using DICHROWEB (refer to Materials and Methods).
