AgNPs induced apoptosis and autophagy of ARPE-19 cells. ARPE-19 cells were treated with various concentrations of AgNPs for 24 h. (A) Protein levels of cleaved caspase-3 and PARP, p62, and LC3B were determined by Western blotting. (B) Ratio of apoptosis was measured and analyzed by Annexin V-FITC/PI staining and flow cytometry. Data are presented as the means ± standard deviation (SD). Similar results were obtained in three independent experiments. *, P < 0.05; ***, P < 0.001, as compared to the control group.
