Forced abstinence from alcohol induces a depressive-like behavioral phenotype. (A) No significant difference in time spent in the open arm of the EPM was observed across sexes and FA conditions. (B) Female mice made more entries to the open arms than male mice, and this effect was not modulated by alcohol conditions. (C) No significant difference in time spent in the center zone of the OPT and (D) total distance traveled was observed across sexes and FA condition. (E) FA-exposed male and female mice displayed lower sucrose preference in the SPT than their control counterparts. (F) FA-exposed male mice spent more time immobile in the FST than control male mice.
