Inflammatory cytokine mRNA expression in the femur. The mRNA expression of inflammatory cytokines in the femurs was quantified using RT-PCR (n = 6 per group). The inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-17A, and IL-23a were measured and standardized using GAPDH. In the KCASP1Tg mice, TNF-α expression was significantly increased (A) and IL-1α expression decreased (C). There was no difference in the expression of IL-6, IL-1β, or IL-23a (B,D,F), and IL-17A was undetectable (E). All data are expressed as mean ± SD.
