Proteasome inhibition in PRh prevents object memory updating in the PROMM task. (a) Intracranial PRh microinjections (blue arrow) of the proteasome inhibitor β-lactone or its vehicle were administered immediately prior to object re-exposure (n = 53). (b) Pre-reactivation β-lactone reversed the typical reduction in object exploration in the same context test condition. The β-lactone/same alternate context condition had greater object exploration than the vehicle/same alternate context condition. Rats in the different alternate context conditions, regardless of drug, also displayed increased object exploration. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01.
