CKB binding communicates through the substrate receptor, ASB9 which behaves as a rigid rod, through ELOB/C which behaves as a hinge, and finally through CUL5, which also behaves as a rigid rod. Both ASB9 and CUL5 appear to move as rigid bodies in the allosteric network. The network terminates in RBX2, which appears to be connected to CUL5 by a flexible (very high amide exchange) tether.
