In vitro cellular uptake of Rhodamine-PE-labeled liposomes in pancreatic cancer cell lines. AsPC-1, PANC-1, and HPDEC cells were treated with Rhodamine-PE-labeled TTP-conjugated liposomes (TL) or control liposomes (CL) for 4 h. Nuclei of the cells were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 for the last 30 mins. Finally, cells were washed three times with PBS and images were captured using EVOS fluorescence microscope under the blue and red channels. TL-treated cells showed significantly higher uptake of Rhodamine dye compared to CL-treated cells in AsPC-1 and PANC-1 cells and very minimal uptake in HPDEC cells. Bar length = 400 μm.
