STS was added to the cells (105 cells/mL) and exposed to CellROX® Deep Red (5 μM, 30 min) at 37 °C in the dark. Negative control (A,B): cells exposed to CellROX® Deep Red in the absence of STS. Images (40×) are representative of the cell population observed in the performed experiments. Images were obtained using an EVOS FL Cell Imaging System AMF4300, Life Technologies, USA. Obtained results were similar for both N. fowleri type strains.
