Post-MRI pathology after chronic CPZ. a-f: Coronal sections from naïve and 12 wk. CPZ perfused after final MRI (Fig. 2) and immunolabeled for either myelin (MOG; a-b), astrocytes (GFAP; c-d), or microglia (IBA1; e-f), along with DAPI nuclear stain (blue; c-f). g-j: Quantification of immunolabeling in this post-MRI cohort shows that chronic CPZ results in significant CC atrophy (g) with demyelination (h), astrogliosis (i), and microglial activation (j). CC area was measured using DAPI nuclear staining of cytoarchitecture and MOG immunoreactivity.
