Chemoresistant liver cancer exhibits characteristics of epithelial-mesenchymal transition. (A) E-cadherin mRNA expression levels were significantly reduced in HepG2/ADR cells; however, vimentin and N-cadherin mRNA levels were significantly increased, compared with the parental HepG2 cell line, as demonstrated by reverse transcription-quantitative PCR. (B) Western blotting demonstrated that E-cadherin protein expression was significantly reduced in HepG2/ADR cells; however, vimentin and N-cadherin protein levels were significantly increased compared with the parental HepG2 cell line.
