In the equations h [L] is the hydraulic head, S [L³] is the storage, A_s[L²] is the surface/bottom area, ε and n_s are matrix suction parameters for storage blocks under near dry condition (Brooks and Corey, 1964), s_e = (θ – θ_r/(θ_s − θ_r) is the effective saturation, n is the Van Genuchten soil retention parameter, S_s[1/L] is specific storage, z₀ is the bottom elevation, h₀ is the top elevation of the block, H() is the Heaviside function and pos(x) = H(x)x.
