Design for conditional expression of human IL8 in mice. Human IL8 cDNA was inserted into the pCALL2 plasmid polylinker region to generate IL8-transgenic mice that encode Cre-inducible IL8. IL8-transgenic mice were then bred with GDF5-Cre mice with inducible Cre activity in synovial joints and intervertebral discs.
