TIA, transient ischemic attack; IC, internal carotid artery; Ml, first segment of the MCA; M2, second segment of the MCA (other etiologies included: multiple sclerosis, n = 1; intoxication, n = 1; brain tumor, n = 1; neurologic degradation due to metabolic/infectious causes in patients with preexisting deficits, n = 3; vestibular neuritis, n = 1; radial nerve palsy, n = 1; and migraines, n = 1).
