In particular, the reported mortality rate refers to the events observed during the entire follow-up period (median 5 (1.2–8.5) years). (Panel B) Adjusted hazard ratios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals for long-term mortality according to AF in each study group. Hazard ratios were adjusted for independent predictors of long-term mortality, identified by logistic regression analysis with stepwise selection of variables (age, diabetes mellitus, acute myocardial infarction type, prior myocardial infarction, and left ventricular ejection fraction) in the entire study population.
