Chilo suppressalis larvae fed on rice plants treated with sodium silicate (SS) showed increased mortality to chlorpyrifos. Newly molted 2nd‐instar larvae were fed on the stems of rice plants for 3 days and then treated with chlorpyrifos. Mortality was recorded 24 hr after insecticide treatment.
