Data from the patient cohort (n = 32) assigned to MRI with free breathing. The appendix was demonstrated to be normal in eleven and abnormal in fourteen cases. Thirteen abnormal cases proceeded to surgery; eleven of these had appendicitis confirmed. One case with appearances of acute appendicitis (M4) on MRI had luminal enterobius vermicularis confirmed histologically, without acute appendicitis
